• What makes the HORIZON series different from a standard car radio?

  Unlike standard car radios, the HORIZON series features a massive, 10.1" or 12.8" optically bonded HD touchscreen. It is specifically designed for the elements, featuring an IP65 weather-resistance rating to protect against dust and water—essential for Jeep and truck owners who drive with the tops, doors, or windows exposed. The HORIZON series features TOSlink output for a noise-free digital signal, resulting in the best sound possible. If you are using one of our vehicle-specific kits, the included modules and harnesses will streamline the install process and retain many factory features like steering wheel controls, climate controls, chime warnings, and more. These kits provide a factory-fit, OEM-like dash, so the finished product looks like it came from the dealership.

• What is an optically bonded display?

  The HORIZON screen is optically bonded, meaning there is no air gap between the glass and the LCD panel. This drastically reduces glare in direct sunlight and prevents internal fogging in humid environments, making it the best screen on the market for convertible or open-air vehicles.

• Does the HORIZON series support Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto?

  Yes. One of the primary upgrades in the HORIZON series is built-in Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto. You can keep your phone in your pocket or on a charger while your maps, music, and messages sync automatically to your unit.

• What vehicle data can the HORIZON series display?

  When using vehicle-specific fully integrated kits, the HORIZON series provides a dedicated Vehicle Info tab. You can monitor:

  • Off-Road Telemetry: Real-time pitch, roll, and altitude.
  • Drivetrain Status: Tire pressure (TPMS), battery voltage, and door status.
  • Performance Gauges: User-customizable gauges for engine health and fluid temps.
• How many cameras can I connect to a HORIZON radio?

  The HORIZON series is a class leader in visibility, offering 4 independent camera inputs. You can set these up for a backup camera, a front trail cam, and two side-view cameras. The system can even trigger the side cameras automatically when you use your turn signals.

• Can I use the HORIZON series to control my auxiliary lights?

  Yes. When integrated with the Stinger SwitchHUB (sold separately), you can control up to 4 high-current accessories—like light bars, rock lights, or air compressors—directly from the touchscreen. This eliminates the need to drill holes in your dash for physical switches.

• Does the HORIZON series improve sound quality?

  Significantly. The HORIZON series is built with an audiophile-grade internal architecture, including a 15-band graphic EQ, time alignment, and 4V 6-channel RCA outputs. It also features a TOSlink (Optical) output for those running high-end external Digital Signal Processors (DSPs).

• Does it have a HDMI input?

  Yes. The HORIZON series includes an HDMI input, allowing you to plug in a streaming device (like a FireStick or Roku) or a smartphone to mirror video content while the vehicle is parked.

• Is a HORIZON radio easy to install?

  The install difficulty for HORIZON radios is considered easy to moderate for most users.

  If you’ve changed a car battery or installed a basic head unit before: You’ll find this installation very rewarding and straightforward. Expect it to take 2–3 hours.
